This Web site is dedicated to the simplest, clearest, and most compelling explanations of why socialism doesn’t work, so that it is accessible and understood by the largest number of people possible.
This site has two primary goals:
- Create an instant reference and go-to point for anyone who feels the need to explain why socialism doesn’t work. If you find yourself backed into a corner trying to explain to a liberal why socialism doesn’t work, just mention this site SocialismDoesntWork.com… we’ve got your back.
- To expose socialism for what it is: Socialism is a way for government and special interests to gain power, and NOT means to equality and prosperity because its end result is just the opposite.
Angle of Attack
The anti-socialist arguments laid out here are specifically approached from the angle of how socialism has the exact opposite effect from what is advertised by its proponents. That is, socialism is claimed to be a means to equality and prosperity, while in reality it leads to inequality and poverty. I chose this angle because I believe it has the maximum potential to unnerve those who support socialism, even if they don’t think their “spread the wealth” government control mentality is actually socialism.
Why I Created This Site
Living in New York City, I encounter more than my fair share of people who whole-heatedly believe that taking money from the wealthy and redistributing it to the “less fortunate” is a viable way to a prosperous society where everybody’s needs are provided for. Every once in a while, I’m tempted to explain the fallacies behind this belief, and more often than not I’m cut off with a barrage of false arguments and incorrect facts coming form the other side.
Usually a false argument or statement takes a lot more time and effort to dismiss than to state, and this can be very distracting and draining when trying to make counter points. For example, the statement “the Holocaust is a hoax that never happened,” takes only eight words to state, but to legitimately argue against it takes a long account of evidence. And that’s why I created this site, where I can lay everything out without interruption.
