I agree that capitalism is a great system. What a pity that the US, and her sub colonies represent in no way a true democratic capitalist society. Socialism is alive and well, and capitalism is corrupt to the bone. I love reading the mindless dribble from individuals promoting one political party or the other with the belief that either one represents true difference, LOL !

The middle class is the goose that laid the golden eggs for the capitalist farmers. Hat's off to both workers and entrepreneurs. Only problem: The middle class wealth is shrinking while the farmer's is growing. E.g 1% of the "farmers" now receive 20% of the income, taxed at one of the lowest rates in history -- compared to 8% in the 1970's. What will happen to those wonderful entrepreneurs when the number of geese keeps dwindling and they get to keep less and less of the golden eggs they produce so that they are less and less capable of buying all the things they produce -- like homes, for example?

Socialism is not the answer to our problems. Neither is the kind of capitalism that is on the road to killing the geese laying the golden eggs that keeps them in business. As more and more people become like you, not knowing the difference between a goose and a farmer, the U.S. will continue on the suicidal path. I urge America's middle class and capitalists rather than fight this ridiculous war which will wipe out capitalism (for all but the super rich) after it wipes out the middle class.

So, I have to say that Chris is wrong when he says a "A patriot fights for what’s best for the majority of their countrymen," as he inserted his own little non-sequitor.

A patriot truly fights for his countrymen's right to individual freedom, regardless of the majority.

When a person resorts to socialism, he is admitting that he wants someone else to take the reigns of his life, that he wants someone else to give him what he needs, and that an authority knows better than he does. To me, that would be quite embarrassing as for my countrymen to be admitting.

Honestly, I believe that socialist followers don't see the individual nature of human life and do not look into its future. The only time I hear anything about the future is when they guilt trip others about the future of the eco system.

"So instead of being a class traitor, a brown nose and a scab by spruiking ruling class propaganda become a patriot. A patriot fights for what’s best for the majority of their countrymen not the privileged few, a patriot fights to protect their land not help polluters destroy it"--Chris from this board.

There were absolutely no points made in that argument. I'm assuming this guy is fighting to protect his own interests of usurping value for himself and wants to drag everyone else into it through aimed guilt and force.

Actually, I don't have to assume that. It's a fact that the only way people that believe in exploiting everybody for a "higher good" can succeed in initiating it fully into society is through placing false guilt on the people and using governmental force and violence.

Every socialist I've met has only had views that contradict themselves. I.E. "ruling class propoganda." Every socialist has spewed some socialist propoganda that they've heard from another. On this board, Chris has just made his own propoganda, and it's ridden with guilt and non-sequitors that could very well be the words from an angry and oppressed follower of a modern Joseph Stalin.

Non-sequitors are the worse kind of false argument, and it seems to be the favorite tool of the unwise and greedy. This is, of course, because guilt ridden and uneducated people have a very hard time seeing through the BS of the non-sequitor. And without bias, I will say that an educated and genuinely wise person would never create a non-sequitor as an argument--it simply has no truth.

Those who believe in the benevolent factors of capitalism seem to be the only ones who make connections to real human nature and use rational thoughts and actions. The only way I've seen lowly, socialist individuals act to to thwart inequality is through brutal violence. Human nature and rational thinking immensely tie into the importance of individual rights. Individual rights are the fundaments of free men, and a person's soul and the principles of the free market are the only things that seem to support them!

This reminds me of the following definition, which is the real dictionary meaning of being a Patriot:

-Noun- a person who regards himself or herself as a defender, especially of individual rights, against presumed interference by the federal government.

As for Obama I’ve never been a fan of his. When he was running for office I suspected he was making promises he couldn’t keep and that’s turned out to be the case.

You just "suspected", Arthur. Obama was making promises impossible to keep so obviously he didn't.

Come on, Philip, stop being so precious. I'm just asking all the capitalists I know of what they think about him because I find his views interesting. As for Obama I've never been a fan of his. When he was running for office I suspected he was making promises he couldn't keep and that's turned out to be the case.

What are you thoughts on Ron Paul? I.E his chances of becoming President in 2012 and on his views overall.

You're asking me? Someone who runs an irrelevant blog...

I don't like Ron Paul as a politician and don't think he has a great chance of becoming president. I appreciate his fiscal views, but don't like much of the rest, especially his isolationist views. Also, not unlike Obama, Ron Paul has a cult like following, which is a red flag.
