I personally think you need to take a trip to Germany,Austria,Switzerland,Norway,Netherland,Finnland,Denmark,Sweden,etc.
After your trip to these countries send me a mail and let’s discuss Socialism.

Personally I’ve been to many countries in Europe, my parents are from Europe, and I was born and raised in a country that’s as much on the socialist side as most countries in Western Europe.

Go to UN and compare Life expectancy,Literacy,etc. and i can boldly say,Americans are paying more for everything and not receiving equivalent service.

Life expectancy in the U.S. is a little lower than that in Europe. The U.S. also has greater obesity and car accident rates, both leading causes of death. Socialism is not exactly going to make people drive more carefully and lose weight, is it now? And as for literacy, the K-12 school system in the U.S. is completely in socialist hands, and spending rates per student are among the highest in the world, so if there is something to blame for low literacy rates in the U.S. it’s socialism.

In Germany,i paid 30euros a month for health insurance and still had the best service compared to the large amount i’m paying in US.As a student,i was operated upon and paid nothing for it.i had friends who had an amputated leg,and he was given new plastic legs(one for swimming and another for daily activities.) just with his monthly 30euros.

Contrary to popular socialist propaganda, the U.S. health care system is hardly a free market system. Since the level of government intrusion was increased with “Obamacare” going into law, costs began to rise at an increasing rate.

I think you need to take a trip to some countries and learn more.

After the recession,this country(US) is struggling to bounce back whiles these socialist countries(as you may call them) are prospering.

Did you see those riots across Europe? Are those because people are happy with their lives? No. They’re because governments are running out of money to pay people expecting government hand-outs.

Germany is doing well as compared to the U.S. However, this proves my views exactly. With the election of Obama, in order to cure its economic woes, the U.S. dived head first into expanding socialism and government spending, while Germany did the opposite and cut back.

The debate is not about Socialism or Capitalism,it’s about developing a country to withstand harsh times and USA has been built on fast food,fast etc.

Really, not about taking money from someone and giving to another. Where does the money come from then? A minimal safety net should be there, but that’s it. A minimal safety net. Not an over powering takeover of the private economy and huge deficits that go as far as the eyes can see.

Socialism doesn’t mean taking someones money and giving it to another,it simply means taking care of the least in the society.If you owe 30,000 and your next door neighbour has nothing to eat, give him 20euros to buy some groceries to survive whiles encouraging him to seek for better opportunities.And US can do that far better than many of the western countries.

Its time to build a new economic policy which might have to bridge the old theories and new ones.

If I’m not mistaken, we are already looking at such a direction here in the states. Here we find our selves buying mass amounts of bad debt from failed financial institutions and now automotive companies. I always liked cars however I never wanted to own stock in GM. Personally, I enjoy a classic Ford.

Never have we seen such an intervention into private business sectors like we are seeing in today’s economy and quit frankly I’m sick of the mental diseases many American’s have today, its the “what about my welfare” coma sweeping our nation.
