Power Corrupts – What Else is New?
By Capitalist in ChiefOne of the chief culprits responsible for the negative side effects (runaway spending, corruption, miss-allocation of resources) of big government socialist programs is that someone has to be in charge. Someone has to make decisions about distributing some one else’s money to affect the lives of yet others.
In this December ‘09 podcast, Scientific American reports how “recent research finds that a feeling of entitlement to power can inspire hypocrisy.”
And hypocrisy, as we may recall, happens when those in power make up rules for the “common people” but don’t feel those same rules apply to them as well.
Go here to hear/read the report.
This is dedicated to all those who think big government social programs, which are run by self interested politicians and driven by lobbyist, can bring “fairness” to the world. With a special dedication to those who still think Obama is the one to pull it off. And a super-duper special dedication to all those who think Obama’s health care reform will be different.

Yes power corrupts. Lets hope for government control, at least I can vote to put him into office! or did you vote your Bnak of America president? Spending the interest made by hanging on to your money? The sytem doesn’t always suck, it doesn’t matter what system the PEOPLE ALMOST ALWAYS DO! Driven by our animal instinct towards survival. If we could just break it down and realize that survival of the species is what we want not survival of the individual! When selfishnish exists no longer we will have perfect world, any system would flourish!

Your statements are barely coherent, but I’ll take a crack at it anyway. You can vote for or against a politician you want, but what happens when the vote doesn’t go your way? And I don’t need to vote for the president of the Bank of America. I can just take my money elsewhere. I don’t even need to wait four years, or hope that my vote would count.
Not sure what you’re saying here.
So the individual doesn’t count, only the common good. I think the communists tried that already, so did the fascists.
