Following Obama’s election, many of his supporters were ecstatic and thought that socialist ideas have prevailed in the realm of public opinion. However, it seems that vague campaign slogans such as “hope and change” and a candidate with a nice smile, only work as long as you don’t have to come up with specific policies to govern the nation. When they were in the opposition, the Democrats did not have to show any tangible results for their rhetoric. But now that they are in power, they are having a tough time delivering.
