Sacrificing for the Common Good: A Socialist’s Ultimate Excuse
By Capitalist in ChiefIn a socialist state the government promises to work on behalf of the little guy: The old, the young, the sick, the poor, the worker, etc. The government will take care of anyone who can possibly have any kind of problem or grievance. But, there’s just one thing, the government can’t provide for everyone. It can’t solve everyone’s problems. Not even close! Never happens. No sir. So what happens when you have a problem, who can you turn to? The government? As an individual, your complaint will fall on deaf ears. Why? Because the government already claims to be doing all it possibly can to solve everybody’s problems. Why is your problem more important than anyone else’s? So get in line, and shut up. You think you’ve got problems? Everybody’s got problems! We’ll take care of your problems after hell freezes over.
[Credit for the above insight goes to my dad, Capitalist In Chief Sr.]
Socialists don’t actually say things like “get in line, and shut up”. That would be too obvious. But they have code words that mean exactly that. Those code words are “sacrifice”, and “common good”. That’s how socialists are hoping to get away with promising the moon and delivering dirt.
Long waiting period to get surgery = “sacrifice for the common good”
High unemployment = “sacrifice for the common good”
High tax burden on the middle class = “sacrifice for the common good”
