I’m sorry but this is the type of logic a Creationist tying to prove that the world is only a few thousands of years old would use! And as a former Harvard law professor, Obama should know that this makes no sense.

I’m sure Al-Qaeda spends even less than Iran does on its military operations. So let’s apply this logic to Al-Qaeda, and see what happens…

Well, I suppose 3000 people dead on 9/11 was not a serious threat, because if it were, they wouldn’t stand a chance in executing their plot.

True, Iran is not a threat in the sense of a total annihilation of the US. But if it handed off a nuclear bomb to a terrorist group that would then use it to kill a 1,000,000 people, I’d call it a serious threat. And another attack on the 9/11 scale is a serious threat as well!

Obama continues,

And we should use that position of strength that we have, to be bold enough and go ahead and listen. That doesn’t mean we agree with them on everything. That doesn’t, we might not compromise on any issues. But at least we should find out are there areas of potential common interests, and we can reduce some of the tensions that have caused us so many problems around the world.

How nice! If we only tried to understand them, unlike that evil, mean, grumpy, Bush, we could all be friends.

And to keep up with his campaign promise of trying to get along, last week, on the occasion of the Iranian New Year, Obama issued the following statement to the Iranian people and Iran’s leaders:

How nice again. A message of hope, peace and diplomacy. There’s only one problem… Iran’s leaders are EVIL, MURDEROUS, FANATICS! It’s like sending the same message to Hitler! Yes, Hitler! Mr. Hitler “we seek an engagement that is honest and grounded in mutual respect.” “The United States wants [the Nazis] to take [their] rightful place in the community of nations.”

To all my Jewish friends who can get enough of Obama:

Obama wants an engagement that’s “honest and grounded in mutual respect” with the leaders of Iran. Yes, the anti-Semitic Holocaust-denying fanatics, who would gladly perpetrate a second Holocaust if they only could, leaders of Iran. Those are the people he wants to respect! I suppose 60+ years is a long enough time to forget how the first Holocaust happened. Maybe Obama hopes they’ll change.

I can only speculate that this type of thinking stems form a misguided belief that everybody just wants to live in peace, prosperity, and harmony. Obama, are you ten years old or something? At ten George W. Bush was less naive than you are now. And you make Sarah Palin look like a foreign policy giant with 50 years of experience.
